Quantum computing made steady progress last year, but major bottlenecks still limit real-world use. At the same time, AI models are advancing rapidly, with lighter models and stronger reasoning capabilities.
Thursday Gathering #40 focuses on how recent AI developments are being used to support and accelerate quantum computing. We will explore how AI can help optimize quantum hardware, reduce errors, improve system control, and support the discovery and design of quantum algorithms. We’ll also discuss how LLMs can shorten research cycles and automate tasks that are currently slow and manual.
The event will primarily bring together managers from quantum companies, researchers from universities, and representatives from government institutions. We welcome anyone interested in Quantum&AI, and are excited to connect the community around these topics.
In the Demo Table zone you will discover various products, technologies and projects being presented by the founders or startup-representatives.
In the Info Table zone you will find out about projects, organisations and ideas.

Part 1: From Classical to Quantum AI
18:00 - 18:15
About the session
Recent advances in artificial intelligence and quantum computing are bringing these two fields closer than ever, but understanding what represents real progress versus speculation is critical. In this opening session, Kemal Apaydin explores why AI and quantum computing are converging now, the key technical bottlenecks still limiting quantum systems, and which development timelines are truly realistic. Through concrete examples, the session highlights where quantum AI could create tangible value first and outlines what organizations should and should not be preparing for today.
Part 2: What Industry Actually Needs from Quantum Computing
18:15 - 19:00
About the session
This interactive fireside chat brings together industry leaders to discuss how artificial intelligence can support quantum research and development, and where AI is currently reaching its limits in real-world applications. Our panel consists of a researcher, a community builder, and a company representative from different backgrounds, offering diverse perspectives on the topic. The conversation explores near-term progress and realistic use cases, including quantum optimization for large-scale machine learning pipelines, as well as broader challenges related to governance, safety, and regulation. Attendees will leave with a practical understanding of what industries genuinely need from quantum computing today, and what remains further on the horizon.
